At Physio Pilates Studio, we believe that great teaching comes from curiosity, thoughtful practice, and continued learning. Teaching Pilates well—especially with diverse bodies and complex needs—requires more than choreography. It requires understanding why you choose an exercise, how to adapt it, and when to progress or modify.
To support instructors in this process, we’re excited to offer Open Studio + Mentoring Time for Pilates Instructors.
What Is Open Studio + Mentoring?
Open Studio + Mentoring is a dedicated, supportive time for Pilates instructors to refine their skills, ask questions, and deepen their understanding in a real-world studio environment. This is not a formal workshop or training—it’s guided, intentional practice with mentorship available.
This time is ideal for instructors who want to:
Practice and refine exercises on equipment
Explore progressions and regressions with purpose
Improve cueing, observation, and hands-on skills
Ask questions about teaching challenges they’re currently facing
Gain clarity and confidence in their programming choices
Focus on Injuries & Special Populations
A key component of this mentoring time is learning how to safely and intelligently modify Pilates for common injuries and specific client populations.
Topics may include (but are not limited to):
Osteoporosis
Low back pain
Neck pain
Shoulder impingement
Scoliosis
Joint replacement
Rather than memorizing rules, instructors are encouraged to think critically about movement, load, range of motion, and intention—so they can adapt Pilates thoughtfully for the bodies in front of them.
Who This Is For
This offering is well suited for:
Certified Pilates instructors
Instructors in training seeking deeper understanding
Teachers who work with rehab-minded or special-population clients
Instructors who want mentorship in a collaborative, non-intimidating environment
Whether you’re newly certified or have been teaching for years, this time is designed to meet you where you are.
Who This Is Not For
To ensure this space remains supportive, focused, and aligned with its purpose, Open Studio + Mentoring may not be the best fit if you are:
Looking for a fast-paced workout or personal practice time only
Seeking a formal certification, teacher training, or continuing education credits
Interested in choreography-focused teaching without discussion of modification or clinical reasoning
Unwilling to receive feedback or engage in thoughtful discussion
This time is intentionally reflective, collaborative, and learning-focused.
A Thoughtful Approach to Continuing Education
Open Studio + Mentoring is about building confidence, sharpening your eye, and becoming a more adaptable, informed teacher. It’s an opportunity to slow down, ask questions, and grow your skills in a supportive setting—without pressure or performance.
If you’re interested in joining or would like more details, please reach out. We’d love to support your continued growth as a Pilates instructor.
