Our studio is filled with calm and bright spaces, offering a supportive, non-judgmental and safe place to explore your concerns. Physio Pilates Studio was founded by Laura Berube PT, MPT, FAAOMPT, NCPT.  We are committed to forming a relationship with you that is respectful, caring, and one that encourages you to achieve your personal wellness goals.  Pilates is more than a series of exercises to develop core control. Pilates is a specific way of moving and living that engages your mind, body, and spirit.

PHYSICAL THERAPY SERVICES

Our Physical Therapy is delivered in a private setting where you are the only patient with your Physical Therapist (PT) during your treatment session. This one to one treatment ethic sets Physio Pilates Studio apart from most outpatient physical therapy settings.
Your therapeutic exercises will be performed on apparati designed by Joseph Pilates using his method of movement to provide an always changing and always challenging continuum of functional improvement. Your goals are our goals, we want you to get back to doing the things you love, feeling stronger and more confident.
You will learn about your body and how it can move more efficiently and comfortably. Any manual therapies that you need will be provided in addition to your movement program.

SCHROTH BASED THERAPY FOR SCOLIOSIS

The Schroth method of exercises for scoliosis was developed by Katherina Schroth, in Germany in 1927 as a result of researching treatments for her own scoliosis condition. By the 1960s, the Schroth Method had become the standard non-surgical treatment for scoliosis and has increased it’s reputation in the United States since.
Through specific exercises and specific breathing techniques, the Schroth method aims to elongate the trunk of the body and correct imbalances. By developing the inner muscles of the rib cage, these exercises change the shape of the upper body to correct any spinal abnormalities. As a result, people experience decreased pain, a slowing or complete halting of curvature progression, and improved posture, cardio-pulmonary function and mobility.

PRIVATE PILATES SESSION

Joseph Pilates originally intended his exercise program to be taught in one-on-one, individualized sessions. A private Pilates session can help you reach your goals more quickly, find the most efficient, effective exercises, assure you are in correct form and control, and motivate you to stay the course.

What to expect from private sessions:

  • Assess your needs and explain which areas you need to work on to reduce pain or create balance and harmony in the body.

  • Address sports- or lifestyle specific pain or issues.

  • Create a home program that you can follow when you can't get to the studio.

  • Help you stay healthy through the course of your life, no matter what happens.

SEMI PRIVATE SESSIONS:

Semi-private sessions are sessions with two to three clients with similar skill levels/goals and prices are per person.    All new clients must complete a minimum of five private sessions prior to joining a semi-private session to  help  identify your own special strengths and challenges (such as: injuries, asymmetries which cause pain, area of tightness & weakness etc.).  We also suggest you periodically take a private session to fine-tune as you progress in your practice.

Share a session with a friend. Grab a friend, co-worker, or someone in one of your classes and save on the cost of the private session!
